Meet Joseph O. Taylor

Joseph O. Taylor, Jr., FNP

Family Nurse Practitioner

Since joining OSSMSA in 2007, Joseph O. Taylor, Jr., FNP-BC, has been an integral part in assisting Dr. Whaley in the evaluation at treatment of orthopaedic patients. Mr. Taylor is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and is also a Certified Surgical Assistant. Mr. Taylor's advanced clinical training and experience is utilized to manage difficult health care issues.

His skills were gained by working at a Level 1 trauma center in San Antonio, as well as working as a critical team member of the Intensive Care Unit. Mr. Taylor's expertise in surgical assisting allows him the opportunity to be a valuable member of Dr. Whaley's surgical team in the operating room.

Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Mr. Taylor is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and his Master's Degree in Family Nurse Practioner from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Mr. Taylor and his wife, Audrey, have one daughter and three sons. Mr. Taylor enjoys spending time with his family on his fishing boat in the Gulf. Mr. Taylor is available for appointments Monday through Friday and maintains privileges at the Nix Hospital, Methodist System, Baptist System, Christus Santa Rosa System, Alamo Heights Surgery Center and the Spine Hospital of South Texas.
